Refers to C Comics, and to stories and poems being enclosed (not present): 'I am not much of a writer as I don't work at it, but every once in a while I just sit down and scribble something off.'
- (2). [New York], December 1965 (reply date annotation on envelope). Autograph letter (1 sheet), with envelope, and a strip of 3 photobooth black and white photographs of Brainard. 'Did a new painting of Sandy Berrigan (very dramatic, but funny) that I really like.'
- (3). [New York], 5 March 1966 (postmark). Autograph letter (2 sheets), with envelope. 'Am working also on a full-length cartoon with John Ashbery. So far it is only 12 pages, but....'

Letter refers to Brainard's cover design for Harwood, The Man with Blue Eyes (New York, 1966): 'I meant it to be black on white so it would have a simple and immediate "pop" (drama) to it. If it should ever be reprinted I would like to have it on white, or else do a new cover.'
