- Scope & Content:

Letters and cards from Helen Cassidy (Helen Garcia), combining recent news with fond memories. Cassidy, with former husband John Cassidy and with Fred Hunter, created the short-lived spoken-word label Stream Records (1967-71), which featured, amongst the work of other emerging English and American poets of the day, the poetry of Lee Harwood (Landscapes). For background, see Fred Hunter, 'Intersound and Stream Records', PS (prose supplement to Painted, Spoken, ed. Richard Price), Number 2 (2007). Hunter: 'All seemed to be going well for Stream until about 1971 when there was a fire in the Cassidy's home, by then at 10 Bramley Road, W10, where all the work was done, and most of the stock went up in flames but sufficient tapes survived to enable future poetry lovers to hear the seven records on CDs, plus some of the others.' For a related letter from Hunter to Harwood (11 January 2007), see Add MS 88998/2/39.
