Travel diary recording the daily activities of Samuel More during his visits to the towns, countryside and industrial sites of South West England. In the diary, More describes his visits to the towns of Guildford, Godalming, Chichester, Portsmouth, Southampton, Exeter, Penzance, Illogan and Plymouth as well as their surrounding villages. More was a keen industrialist and visited Saltings salt works, the lead mine near Newton St Cyres, Carvedras smelting works near Illogan, Huele Fortune copper mine, the fire engine at Penandrea mine, New Pool copper mine, Huele Kitty works and the Manor or Drannock mine in Guinear. More also describes his trips to local attractions including castles, cathedrals, ruins and docks and to natural beauty spots including local hills, waterfalls, the coast and the Devils Punch Bowl.
