- Description: Between 1850 and 1950 more than 100.000 Arab-speaking immigrants arrived in Argentina, however, they soon intermarried with the local inhabitants. Fast and intense social and economic mobility limited Muslim identity to the home. The Hispanic-Arab Institute fostered the knowledge of this identity although it is widespread the prejudice between Arab and Muslim identities. It is important to note that this institute may be part of the ones created by the fascist government of Franco in Spain. The Argentine-Bolivian Cultural Institute fostered the consolidation of relations between the two countries as well as aiding the life of the Bolivians in Argentina. These immigrants have been coming since the early years of the Independence until to-day. Other institutes were created in this spirit of fostering relations between the two countries and disseminating the national identities. Extent and format of original material: This envelope contains photos, clippings, articles, documents, and an invitation for the inauguration of the premise, letter with hispanic information, memories and bulletins.
