- Lee Harwood: Scrapbook 1
- Scope & Content:

The date span on the front cover label ('Reviews & Flyers / 1960-1999') refers to the span of material originally held within the scrapbook, which incorporated a considerable body of material loosely inserted. This loose material - greater in volume than the material securely pasted into the scrapbook - has been placed within two separate files (Add MS 88998/1/7-8).
The scrapbook begins with a cutting from the Sutton Advertiser (4 February 1965): 'Some extremely complex and beautiful word-pictures were painted at the poetry meeting organised on Friday evening by "Origins/Diversions," the Sutton-based poetry and jazz magazine, at a hall above the South Suburban Co-op in Sutton.' Other poets reading included Chris Torrance, and the report contains photographs of both Torrance and Harwood. Harwood read (only) 'Cable Street', described as 'a collage, a montage, of words, poetry and prose, containing fact, fiction, history and emotion about the street where he has lived for six years.'
The final item in the scrapbook is a brief review (Poetry London, Autumn 1999) of Harwood, Morning Light (1998).
