Material relating to a series of three lectures by Harwood on Percy Bysshe Shelley, at New College, San Francisco. February-March 1984. (Other lecturers, Michael McClure and Diane di Prima.)

• (1). Spiral bound notebook containing research notes. On the penulitmate page of the notebook, after many blank pages, are two brief and unrelated story notes (the Shelley lectures were contemporaneous with the writing of Dream Quilt): 'Bob & Emily story No.2' and a climbing anecdote referring to Paul Evans and Peter Bailey. On the final page (and on a sheet loosely inserted there) a note of poems subsequently published in Monster Masks (1985) referred to as 'ATWN(2) - enlarged 2nd edition', and two alternative titles (struck-through): 'Not totally wrong' or 'Keeping Company'. Harwood notes: 'Not to use work written since spring 1983 - this a new light book. Want all that old darkness gathered together in ATWN(2)'.

• (3). Lecture 2. 'Shelley and the radical tradition of the 17th & 18th centuries'. Delivered 6 March 1984. Autograph script (17 numbered sheets, plus sheet 5a, with some photocopied material).
• (4). Lecture 3. 'Shelley: the question of poet & politics'. Delivery date not indicated. Autograph script (19 numbered sheets, plus sheets 2a and 4a, with an additional sheet at 4a referring to René Char, Hypnos Waking).
