Treatise on the observation of solar eclipses through a camera obscura by Abū ‘Alī al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ḥasan ibn al-Haytham (أبو علي الحسن بن الحسن بن الحسن بن الهيثم; d. ca 1040).
The text contains four diagrams, which are collected on a fold out (f. 34r) following the text.
Begins (f. 8v, lines 2-4):
قد يوجد صورة ضوء الشمس في وقت كسوفها إذا خرج ضوئها من ثقب ضيق
مستدير وانتهى إلى سطح مقابل للثقب على مثل شكل الهلال إذا لم يستفرق
الكسوف جميعها ...

... ولا يظهر ضوء القمر إذا خرج من الثقوت هلاليًا في وقت كون
القمر هلالًا في وقت كسوفه فيظهر ضوء الذي يخرج من الثقب أبدًا مستديرًا و مبين
مع ذلك متى يظهر ضوء الشمس إذا انكشف هلاليًا ومتى يظهر مستديرًا في حال
كسوفها وهذه هي المعاني التي قصدنا نتبينها في هذه المقالة ...
