Communication is divided between two principal correspondents:

• Sonny Mehta, publisher, chiefly about finalising book jacket design, and included in the file are 7 black and white photocopied designs for Wish You Were Here, and
• Diana Coglianese, editor; this correspondence mainly concerns finalising book jacket content, such as the inclusion of reviews from the UK for promotion to an American audience.

There are 2 pages of printed email correspondence with Lena Khidridskaya of the Publicity department at Knopf publishers.

Also included in the file is a small amount of earlier correspondence with Alfred A. Knopf, concerning Making an Elephant, along with even earlier correspondence comprising:

• a revised flap copy for Ever After
• a photocopy of a letter from Knopf publishers to booksellers recommending Tomorrow, and
• a copy of a letter dated December 3rd 1991 to Sonny Mehta from Frank Conroy, Director of the University of Iowa, referring to an un-named event at which he handed out copies of Waterland and met with great success (Conroy also provides his own very positive response to Ever After.)
