- 2. ff. 35-91. 'Suite from the ballet Harlequin in April'(Op. 63b). Photocopy (A4) of autograph full score: introductory remarks (1 f.) in Arnell's hand and pp. 1-146 (lacking pp. 25-40, 67-72, 87-96, and 131-2). The photocopy is derived from the autograph score (Add MS 59683) but has been annotated in places and passages have been cut. A note at the end of the work records: 'Suite arranged Oct 20 1955, London'. There are also deletions on pp. 20, 23-4, 85-6. All annotations to the score are made within the photocopy, indicating that this score is a photocopy of a photocopy.
The ballet was commissioned by the Arts Council for the Festival of Britain (1951) and produced at Sadler's Wells by the Sadler's Wells Theatre Ballet Theatre during that year.
