- (1). ff. i-4. 'Electric Composer'. A wrap-around sheet dated 16 February 1981 ('Day 1') enclosing sketch material dated 16 February (1 bifolium) and written notes (1 f.) dated 17 February.
- (2). ff. 5-11. Sketch material variously titled 'Marriage Piece' (title struck through), 'Divertimento No. 4', and 'Sinfonia Concertante or Divertimento Concertante 2'. Comprising a wrap-around sheet in Arnell's hand enclosing: written notes (1 f.) and pencil sketch material (1 f. and 2 bifolia). All dated 1981.
- (3). ff. 12-20. Wrap-around sheet headed 'For Pageturner and Piano / and Other Things', enclosing written notes (pp. 1-4) and pencil sketch material (2 bifolia, 24-stave paper). All material, 1982.
- (4). ff. 21-68. Three typed letters (1984-85) from East Midlands Arts concerning the commission of a work by the Desford Colliery Dowty Band. Together with sketch material and written notes (1983-85) relating to the commission.
- (5). ff. 69-75. Wrap-around sheet (1985) headed 'Bach Mantra', enclosing 5 ff. (24-stave paper, pp. 1-5).
- (6). ff. 76. Fragment (24-stave paper, 1 bifolium) of a pencil sketch setting, words unidentified ('And enjoyed none of them? Had no pleasure in the victory?'). Dated 5 and 10 March (year not indicated).
