Scope & Content:

Green cloth-bound photograph album measuring 257 x 238 mm, binding loose, containing 137 prints, mainly uncaptioned. The collection can be broken down as follows:

Prints 1-15 Snapshots of Bellary, Kurnool and Cuddapah, possibly photographed by Basham, 1900s.

Prints 16-25 Views in the Red Fort, Delhi, by an unidentified commercial photographer, 1900s.

Prints 26-37 Architectural views of Agra by an unidentified photographer (possibly Archaeological Survey material), 1900s.

Prints 38-137 Architectural and archaeological views taken by the Archaeological Survey of India (Southern Circle) 1904-14. This material can be identified by reference to the duplicates prints in the Archaeological Survey Collections (Photo 1008/1-10). A number of these prints are also duplicated in Photo 3/1.
