Scope & Content:

Red full leather bound album with padded cover (spine weak, binding split along one edge) measuring 270 x 380 mm, with prints mounted one to a page with letterpress caption pasted beneath prints. The album was presumably acquired by or presented to Lord Reading during his period as Viceroy, although the photographs appear to be of a somewhat earlier date.

The album contains architectural and topographical views, mainly of Udaipur and its palaces, but with some material from other sites in the state such as Chitor (Chittaurgarh) and the artificial lakes of Rajsamand, Jaisamand and Udaisagar.
