Small leather album, 190x245mm, in a silk-embroidered protective cover. The album is untitled and the prints are mounted without captions. The prints depict the Viceroy and Lady Reading's visit to Allahabad on the 1st and 2nd of November 1923. Print 1 shows the interior of the railway station on their arrival. Print 2 shows their carriage and escort driving to Government House. Prints 3 and 4 depict the Guard of Honour of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders on parade at Governmemt House. Print 5 is a general view of the garden party given by the Nawab of Chhatari in the Khusrubagh. Print 6 shows the Viceroy and Lady Reading, the Governor (?) and the Nawab of Chhatari (?) sitting in front of a shamiana and watching a display of daylight fireworks. Print 7 is taken during the reception for Lady Reading at the Maternity and Child Welfare Centre. Print 8 shows the Viceroy embarking on a 'mugger-shooting' trip on the Ganges.
