Group portrait of members of the Afghan ruling family centred round the young Mahomed Unus, son of Sher Ali Khan (Amir of Afghanistan 1863-66 and 1868-79. All the figures have a number neatly inked on the print above their heads corresponding to the following identifications printed on the mount: 1. Mahomed Karim Khan, son of Dost; 2. Ahmud Allee Jan, son of Mahomed Allee Khan, eldest son of Sher Alli; 3. Abdul Rehman, son of Sher Alli by slave; 4. Mahomed Kaium, son of no.1; 5. Wali Mahomed; 6. Khan Mahomed Khan; 7. Allee Mahomed; 8. Mahomed Unus, son of ex-Amir; 9. Mahomed Eusuf, son of Dost; 10. Mahomed Azim Khan, son of Dost; 11. Mahomed Isahk, son of Mahomed Sharif; 12. Hashim Khan, son of Mahomed Sharif; 13. Mahomed Ibrahim, son of Sher Alli; 14. Gholam Morudin Khan, son of Mir Alum Khan; 15. Habibulla Khan, son of Dost.
