View looking along the hillside, with a three-storey private house with ornate decorative woodwork on the exterior in the foreground. This is identified in The National Geographic Magazine (Apr 1914, p. 447) as 'The picturesque summer residence of Sir Ugyen's sister at Sangachoiling, situated about four miles north of Byagha'. (Angdu Choling appears to be south of Byagha in the map that appears in White's 'Sikhim and Bhutan'). Duplicate at Photo 613, captioned 'Thaling Lama's House, Angducholing'.
