Burma Railways Collection: Bridge building over the Pegu and Sittang rivers. Photographer(s): Klier, Philip Adolphe
- Scope & Content:
-
Dark blue half-leather bound album measuring 315x435 mm, with mounted prints captioned beneath the photographs. The album is in very poor physical condition, with spine broken and boards loose. The album pages are of very low quality board, now much discoloured and brittle, and several have in addition suffered from dusty storage conditions.
The album comprises scenes of the construction in 1906 of the bridge across the Pegu River on the Pegu to Moulmein extension of the line and the construction, in 1906-07, of the Sittang River Bridge on the same line; there are also a number of views views of smaller bridges under construction on the Henzada to Kyangin extension in 1907.
