Primrose Collection: Album of views mostly in India. Photographer(s): Bourne, Samuel
- Scope & Content:
-
Photograph collection of Sir Henry William Primrose. Green half-leather album, measuring 482 x 342 mm, containing mounted prints, the majority with handwritten captions. The album binding is broken beyond repair, with loose covers and missing spine. The prints show signs of deterioration, particularly at the edges. The collection consists of topographical and architectural views in northern India (mostly by Samuel Bourne) but also includes a portrait of Col James Augustus Grant, European groups, coastal views in the British Isles, Woolwich Military Academy and a mess house in Aden.
