Post-bound album from the collection of Sir Maurice Hallett, blue with red vein effect, measuring 202x290mm. Prints are mounted in corner mounts with handwritten captions below and the photographer's gold label in the corner. Pages are interleaved with tissue. The front cover has a white label with, 'Lac Institute, Ranchi' written in ink. The front free endpaper has a letter attached by a paper clip which is headed 'Indian Lac Research Institute, Namkum, Ranchi' and dated '31st of May, 1937'. The letter reads: 'My dear Captain Walker, I am taking the liberty of sending an album per bearer, containing a few snaps of His Excellency and Lady Hallett during their recent kind visit to the Institute. I hope Their Excellencies will kindly accept this memento from the Indian Lac Research Institute, the activities of which are in the Province of which Sir Maurice is at the helm. With kind regards, yours sincerely, H.K.Sen'.
