Green velvet covered photograph album measuring 232x320mm, with prints mounted one or two per sheet on green pages with tissue interleaving. The prints have letterpress captions and a titlepage reading 'Hallett Hospital Cawnpore. Photographs of: foundation laying ceremony and of the building taken by Messrs. B.M. Set & Co., Cawnpore'. This title page also has a handwritten inscription reading: 'With best compliments from Mahabu Prasad on behalf of the Public Works Department B. & R. Branch'. A typescript note by Hallett pasted into the front of the album gives a brief account of the work undertaken by the Buildings and Roads Branch of the Public Works Department during the Second World War. This album records the laying of the foundation stone of the hospital by Sir Maurice Hallett on 7 August 1943, the completed buildings, and the opening of the hospital by the Viceroy Lord Wavell on 16 December 1944.
