Cloth-covered album, 267x362mm, containing mounted prints with handwritten captions. Album pages are very brittle. The album records the visit to India of a cabinet delegation led by Lord Pethick-Lawrence which met Indian political leaders in New Delhi. The photographs are mainly portraits including those of Gandhi and Jinnah.

He was Head of the Information Department of the Commonwealth Relations Office from 1948-54 and subsequently employed in charge of the branch conducting liaison with the UK, Commonwealth and foreign press with the BBC. He retired in 1957. These photographs were presented to Joyce at the time of the 1946 Mission, and subsequently presented by him to the India Office Library.
