Collection of 94 lantern slides, originally housed in two wooden boxes belonging to Sir William Foster. The slides, mainly acquired from various commercially available set (Our Indian Empire, Two months in India with a camera, etc), present a tour of India starting at Bombay and then proceeding to Rajasthan, Delhi, Lahore, Amritsar, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Lucknow, Cawnpore, Calcutta and Darjeeling. Southern India is covered by views of Madras, Trichinopoly, Madura, the series ending with a set of views of Ceylon (Sri Lanka).
