Homemade cloth album measuring 98x178mm, with title 'Photos. Mespot 1915-19' stitched on the front cover in blue thread, from the collection of J.G.P. Cameron. The prints are gummed to a strip of linen through which ties hold the photographs in place. A number of prints have become detached from the album and are placed loose at the end. The Prints are uncaptioned.
John Gordon Patrick Cameron CIE (1885-1970), served in the Indian Posts and Telegraphs Department from 1906-32 and these photograph date from his period of military service in Mesopotamia during the First World War from 1915-19. The majority of the views show river scenes, presumably on the Tigris and some views of military activity.
