Black full-leather bound album measuring 328 x 450 mm, with uncaptioned prints mounted from one to six per page. The absence of captions means that most of the events recorded remain unidentified, but the contents can be broadly broken down into the following categories of material:
Prints 1-7 Formal group portraits takn by professional photographers on various occasions.
Prints 8-32 Unidentified official occasion(s), at Belvedere, Calcutta and other locations.
Prints 33-39 Shikar scenes.
Prints 40-89 Portraits of ethnic types, mainly Tibetan, probably taken at Darjiling.
Prints 90-112 Scenes at Darjiling, including a series of views of a performance of a 'Devil Dance', photographed by M. Sain. A photograph of a foundation stone (of an unidentified structure) laid by The Earl of Ronaldsay (Marquess of Zetland), is dated 27 October 1917.
