Green cloth-bound album (binding loose), measuring 262x318mm and containing hinge-mounted prints with handwritten captions. The album contains a miscellaneous collection of snapshots and views relating to the professional, social and family life of Sir Evelyn Howell both in India and Europe. The material in the album can be broken down into the following broad subject areas:
Prints 1-49 Views in France.
Prints 50-65 Architectural views in New Delhi and Agra.
Prints 66-74 Views in Westmoreland.
Prints 75-80 Views in the North-West Frontier Province, including two snapshots of the Peshawar Riots of April 1930, and a formal group with the Nawab of Dir at Malakand in April 1930.
Prints 81-94 Scenes in and around Simla: picnics, family groups, etc.
Prints 95-117 Scenes in England and Switzerland, 1930.
Prints 118-130 Scenes in the Khyber Pass, including views of roads and railways at Landi Kotal and a good photograph of a camel caravan.
