Collection of negatives, captioned on envelopes (envelopes now discarded). In most cases there are two negatives, the original nitrate negative and a duplicate on safety film. Many of the negatives are marked up for cropping, and this may indicate their use in published work (probably magazine articles) not so far traced. This material can be broken down into the following geographical categories:
1-3 Bombay.
4-26 Delhi and New Delhi. Mainly architectural views, and including some material on the construction of New Delhi.
27-40 Agra.
41-67 Miscellaneous architectural views at Fatehpur Sikri, Benares, Jodhpur, Sanchi, Khajuraho, Konarak.
68-75 Temple architecture in Southern India: Madurai, Sakkandurmali, Trichinopoly, Srirangam, Tanjore.
76-86 Views in the Simla Hills and Kashmir.
87-142 Views in North-East Assam: ethnic groups, river scenes on the Brahmaputra, etc.
143-47 Singapore and Penang.
148-53 China.
154-66 Japan.
167-88 U.S.A. and Canada, mainly views of railway locomotives.
189-98 Miscellaneous Indian material.
