A collection of 173 glass negatives and 214 prints relating to Stein's archaeological investigations in Iraq and Trans-Jordan from December 1938 to April 1939. This collection does not include the important series of aerial photographs taken during the surveys.The discrepancy in the number of negatives and prints is accounted for by duplicate prints (slightly enlarged) of a number of the subjects. The British Library collection does not hold a list of titles for the photographs, apart from the following notes of the dates on which various batches were taken:
