Papers relating to a project with David Hewson to develop a score to be performed live to accompany a showing of the silent documentary film The Drifters (John Grierson, 1929) at the Norwich Film Festival, 16 October 1994. However, despite considerable work on the project, the performance did not take place (see Arnell to David Cleveland, East Anglian Film Archive, University of East Anglia, 19 September 1994). The file comprises:
- (1). ff. 1-11. Press release and correspondence, including correspondence with David Cleveland (University of East Anglia) and a copy letter from Arnell to David Hewson, seeking his collaboration.
- (2). ff. 12-42. Commentary on The Drifters by Grierson, 'Making a Film of the Everyday' (parallel text in English and German). Photocopy extract, stamped 'H[enry] Forsyth Hardy'.
- (3). ff. 43-60. Sketch material (dated 1994) by Arnell.
- (4). ff. 61-104. Various written notes, film analysis and time-coded cue sheets.
