The photographs cover a broad range of subjects and locations, including: Freemasons; Burmese pagodas; Burmese carts and boats; views on the Hughli at Calcutta; Srirangam; Darjiling; Bombay architecture; Ceylon railway; Singapore; bearded family of Mandalay; Bourne and Shepherd photographers at the Delhi Durbar and snake charmers.
