This record of Corfield's visit to Khairpur is similar in content to the photographs in Photo 441/1, and shows among other material, the palace at Khairpur (print 1), Corfield's arrival at the railway station (print 2), inspecting boy scouts and boy scout displays (prints 3-4, 7-15), inspecting a town planning model (print 17), playing tennis at the minister's house (prints 19-21) and departure (prints 28-9).

Biographical note: Sir Conrad Laurence Corfield (1893-1980) joined the Indian Civil Service in 1920 and transferred to the Political Department in 1925, serving in Kathiawar, Baluchistan, Rajasthan, Central India and Hyderabad. He was Joint Secretary, Political Department, Simla, 1934-38, Resident at Jaipur 1938-40, Resident for the Punjab States, 1941-45, and Political Adviser to the Viceroy as Crown Represenative 1945-47.
