Light blue post-bound album, measuring 193 x 275 mm, containing prints either pasted in or held with corner mounts. The collection is captioned and dated throughout. The photographs are mainly snapshots of places visited by Sir Walter Campbell including the following subjects: portraits, residencies, tiger hunting, palaces, stupas, forts, ferries, garden parties, cricket, croquet, official visits, Indian rulers.

Biographical note: Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Walter Fendall Campbell (1894-1973) entered the Indian Army in 1914, was seconded to the Civil Administration in Iraq from 1919-20 and joined the Indian Political Department in 1921, holding various posts in districts and agencies in Baluchistan and the NWFP from 1921-33. He later served as Prime Minister, Alwar, 1935-36, Political Agent, Bundelkhand, 1937, Resident in Waziristan, 1939-40, Resident for Central India, 1942-46 and Resident, Mysore, 1946-47.
