Miscellaneous loose prints including a portrait of the Maharaja of Mysore, Sir Kenneth Fitze, a garden party in Bangalore, Lady Campbell inspecting Girl Guides and Lady Linlithgow's visit to Mandu. The collection also includes a special edition of the The Alwar State Gazette, Vol XXVII, No 96, 28 September 1935, which reproduces a speech given by the Agent to the Governor-General in Rajputana to Alwar officials, in which he attempts to quell political unrest.
Biographical note: Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Walter Fendall Campbell (1894-1973) entered the Indian Army in 1914, was seconded to the Civil Administration in Iraq from 1919-20 and joined the Indian Political Department in 1921, holding various posts in districts and agencies in Baluchistan and the NWFP from 1921-33. He later served as Prime Minister, Alwar, 1935-36, Political Agent, Bundelkhand, 1937, Resident in Waziristan, 1939-40, Resident for Central India, 1942-46 and Resident, Mysore, 1946-47.
