Black springback portfolio album stamped 'Tea Garden Photographs' in gold on front cover and measuring 343x272mm. The snapshot sized prints are mounted several to a page, with handwritten captions and dates beneath.
The album consists mainly of views on Assam tea estates, including managers' bungalows, factory buildings, stores, godowns, tea processing, etc. There are also a number of social scenes and portraits. The material has evidently been placed in the album over a number of years, although the great majority of the photographs date from the period 1910-16. The following tea gardens are included in the album: Dumchipara, Gandrapara, Newlands, Gangaram, Kumargram, Killcott, Chalouni, Jiti, Meenglas, Putharjora, Leesh, Amo, Bupara, Carron, Hankapara, Ellenbarrie, Manabarrie, Tellapara, Praskowa, Patrakola, Jalinga.
