Collotype views of India. Photographer(s): Bourne and Shepherd
- Scope & Content:
-
Collection of loose collotype reproductions of Indian scenes (mainly architectural views) forming part of an extensive series of reproductions of Bourne & Shepherd photographs published in this form (see also Photo 338). The prints are captioned in letterpress beneath each image, together with reference number in the series and photographer's credit reading 'Bourne & Shepherd, Art Publishers, India 1904 [or 1905].' The dates given here refer to publication date of these collotypes: the photographs themselves were taken over a period of years and several of the views are reproduced from originals taken by Bourne as early as the 1860s.
