Black half leather bound album measuring 280x390mm, spine piece missing and album block loose. The album contains views of the Royal Engineering College at Cooper's Hill, Calcutta, Lahore, Peshawar, Nowshera, Amritsar, Murree, Kashmir, Simla, Naini Tal, Agra, Sikandra, Delhi, and Lucknow. The photographs are mainly commercially produced work, with handwritten captions in ink either on the print surface or album page.
From the collection of Charles Frederick Sykes (great-uncle of the donor). C. F. Sykes trained at the Royal Engineering College, Cooper's Hill, and subsequently served as an engineer in India until his retirement in 1906.
