Light brown cloth-covered album, 375x290mm, containing mounted prints with captions handwritten in white.
Prints 1-26: Landscape views, rural life and military personnel near the Afghan border at Chaman and the Khojak Pass, and also at Fort Sandeman (Zhob). Prints 27-51: Military manoeuvres with the Zhob Brigade and Wana Brigade. Prints 52-54: Medal ceremony including an Indian officer being decorated (possibly Havildar Siddu Yadhav whose account of an escape from a German POW camp is pasted above the photograph). Prints 55-103: Views in Balochistan including Fort Munro, a paddle steamer on the Indus, Marri country, Ziarat and farmers dipping sheep. Prints 104-111: Portraits of British officers during winter training. Prints 112-119: Views in Balochistan including Loralai and a water mill at Nushki. Prints 120-123: Practice camp for artillery units near Quetta. Prints 124-131: Miscellaneous views including the visit of the AGG to Nushki amd Kharan. Prints 132-264: Views in East Persia (Iran) including topographical, architectural and ethnographical photographs, as well as views of military manoeuvres in the region. Locations include Nosratabad, Bam, Rayen (anti-locust operations), Khash fort, Kuh-e-Taftan, Zahedan airstrip, Hirmak, Robat Thana frontier post, Zabol, Torbat-e-Heydariyeh, Birjand, Gonabad fort, Shusf, Mashhad under Soviet occupation (consulate, bazaar scenes and shrine of Imam Reza) and Tus. Prints 265-268: Horses and camels at Kalat. Print 269: Polish children evacuated from Russia to India. Prints 270-280: Durbar at Sibi with Colonel Rupert Hay, AGG, Sir Henry Holland and Marri and Bugti chiefs. Prints 281-328: Views of the site and artefacts at Mohenjo Daro, including a portrait of the archaeologist, Hassan Khan. Prints 329-335: Views at Chapar Rift. Prints 336-337: The C-in-C, Auchinleck, visiting Quetta. Print 338: Family portrait. Print 339: Grape tree.
