Maroon half-leather album, 310 x 420 mm, containing mounted prints with handwritten captions. A small label pasted on the front cover reads: 'J. H. E. Reid. Book 1. 1875-1885'.
Colonel J. H. E. Reid (D Coy, 1st K.O.B.) was married to Florence Macnabb, daughter of James William Macnabb. Photographs include the Royal Military College at Sandhurst, Suez views, Faizabad, the Second Afghan War (in which Reid was wounded), views of Bombay and Ambala, regimental groups including the King's Own Scottish Borderers, the 9th (Queen's Royal) Lancers and 11th Bengal Lancers (Probyn's Horse), views at Dagshai, Simla and Kasauli.
