Scope & Content:

Maroon half-leather album, measuring 322 x 442 mm, containing mounted prints with handwritten captions. The photographs are of amateur quality, probably by Hogg, and include social life scenes, cantonment and hill station views, and miscellaneous topographical views at Disa, Rajkot, Abu, Girnar, Pune, Mahabaleshwar, Wai, Nagar (Shimoga?), Kundapura?, Loni?, Sirur, Lucknow, Delhi, Roorkee, Kanpur, Gwalior, Ahar, Lashkar, Pushkar, Ali Masjid, Landi Khana, Jamrud and Landi Kotal.

Collection of Major-General George Crawford Hogg (1842-1941), who entered the Bombay Cavalry in 1858 and served in the Second Afghan War 1878-80; he was Quartermaster General, Bombay 1891-95 and commanded the Deesa District 1895-1900; transferred to unemployed supernumerary list 1904.
