Brown half-leather album, measuring 380 x 312 mm, containing 39 albumen prints laid down on card leaves, with handwritten captions beneath. The photographs include views of officers' bungalows at Sirur, architecture at Lucknow, polo groups and views of Bombay, Ahmadnagar and Poona (Pune).
The album forms part of the collection of Major-General George Crawford Hogg (1842-1941), who entered the Bombay Cavalry in 1858 and served in the Second Afghan War 1878-80; he was Quartermaster General, Bombay 1891-95 and commanded the Deesa District 1895-1900; transferred to unemployed supernumerary list 1904.
