Scope & Content:

Full-length standing portrait, taken in the open air, of Lieutenant Colonel Henry Graham Gauntlett (1887-1974). The photograph was probably taken in England in 1937, at the time Gauntlett led the Burmese Contingent at the coronation. He holds the ceremonial sword which was the Burmese gift at the coronation (information from Andrew Grantham, whose biographical note on Gauntlett is filed with the photograph).
