The album includes views of Cochin, Sivakasi (Ramnad District), Srivilliputtur, Virudunagar, Madurai, Kodaikanal, Conjeevaram, Ongole (Guntur District).

Hadden Hamilton Carleston (b. 1904) entered the Indian Civil Service in 1927 and served as Collector and Magistrate in Madras.
