Full leather bound album measuring 352 x 500 mm, decorated with blind tooling, and with initials 'A.P.' stamped in gold in centre of front cover. The album is numbered '3' on the front cover. The album is enclosed in a card slipcase. Prints are mounted several to a page, with handwritten captions and identifications in ink beneath each image.The views in this album are almost entirely amateur work and the contents can be broken down into the following broad headings:
Prints 1-180 Snapshot views and portraits of Kashi (Kashgar), Shache (Yarkand), Hunza, Gilgit, Dir, etc., 1927. Mountain landscapes, scenery, rivers and people.
Prints 181-216 Snapshot views on the North-West Frontier and at Srinagar, 1928.
Prints 217-268 Snapshot views in Afghanistan and on the North-West Frontier. Includes a series of views of Kabul in 1928, with one view of the British Legation (print 235).
Prints 269-310 Snapshot views of mountain and river scenery in Kashmir, 1929.
Prints 311-345 Snapshot views on the North-West Frontier, 1929-30. Includes a few views at Delhi and a group portrait of members of the Black Heart Club at Shimla in 1930.
Prints 346-403 Snapshot views in Afghanistan, 1930, including a view of the Russian Embassy at Kabul (print 379).
Prints 404-451 Snapshot views on the North-West Frontier, 1931.
Prints 452-515 Snapshot views at Malta, Marseilles, Suez, Gibraltar, British Isles, Venice and Greece, 1931-32.

Major General Sir Arthur Edward Broadbent Parsons (1884-1966) entered The Sherwood Foresters in 1906 and the 52nd Sikhs Frontier Force in 1908. He joined the Indian Political Department in 1919 and served in the Third Afghan War 1919 and the Waziristan Operations of 1921-22. From 1936-39 he was Agent to the Governor General, Baluchistan, in the latter year also serving as Acting Governor, North-West Frontier Province. He served at GHQ, Middle East from 1943-44.
