Sir Frederick Sykes Collection: Album of miscellaneous views and portraits.

Black half-leather album, 310 x 420 mm, containing uncaptioned prints mounted with adhesive corner mounts. The photographs are the work of commercial photographers covering events attended by the Governor of Bombay and are mostly informal shots, with only a few formally posed portraits. The majority of the events are unidentified and undated, both on the mount and print verso, but one can assume they took place during Sir Frederick Sykes' period in office as Governor of Bombay 1928-33.
Print 1 Group portrait of the Sykes children? Prints 2-9 Views of Sir Frederick and Lady Sykes attending various sporting events including a racing meet (Governor's Cup?). Prints 10-13 (captions on versos) Views at a 1929 Poona Horse Show, including musical rides, the Governor competing in a 'Point to Point' and Lady Sykes presenting children's prizes. Print 14 Group portrait with Sir Frederick and Lady Sykes and officials, Karachi?
