[Indian inscription found at Penha Verde, Cintra, near Lisbon.] Photographer: Unknown

Duplicate of print 15. Note on reverse reads: 'Referring to enclosed book, a work by Herculano de Moura, Nova Goa, 1906, where the existence of one undeciphered (& never reproduced properly) stone with inscription, at Penha Verde Cintra was mentioned. as no good day photo or any other kind of reproduction is possible I took the decision to have it photographed during the night, with magnesium light!. The result is not bad, only the horizontal lines starting the signs are not visible owing to the only possible position of the flash (right side) so this has to be taken into account on essaying to decipher the inscription which seems to be that of Elefanta [sic], missing at the underground temple's door (Bombay). The 13x18 ctm cliche, is deposited by me with Sociedade de Geografia de Lisbon which will take up the matter if further reproductions or copies wanted etc (when asking please mention Bromo-Esmalte copy ('Kodak', Lisbon), Jacintho Guilerme Furtado. Address J. Furtado, PO Box No 77, Lisbon (a theosophy student member of the local Theosophical Society Branch)'.
