Brown half-leather album, 342x320mm, containing prints mounted on board with handwritten captions. The majority of the photographs are signed 'Edmd W. Smith' with various dates, although several are atttributed to the draughtsman, Ghulam Rasul Beg. The prints are preceded by copies of the annual progress reports of the Archaeological Survey, N.W.P. and Oudh Circle, as follows:

The photographs are architectural views of Bahraich and Agra, taken by Edmund W. Smith, Archaeological Surveyor; a post he took up after the resignation of Dr A. Fuhrer in 1898.
The progress report for 1898-99 was written by Vincent A. Smith and gives an account of Fuhrer's attempted deception in Nepal Tarai (see Notes for Photo 1007/4).
