Major General Charles McLintock Cotton Collection: Photograph album of views of Delhi, Agra and Mathura. Photographer(s): Dayal, Deen
- Scope & Content:
-
Green half-leather bound album measuring 450 x 380 mm, containing 41 uncaptioned albumen print views of Indian architecture at Delhi, Agra and Mathura, mounted one to a page (recto only) on card leaves. The majority of the photographs are uncredited, apart from print 41, which signed 'D.D.' (i.e., Deen Dayal), and the Mathura views, on many of which the photographer's wetstamp on the reverse has bled through the paper, allowing the name of the second half of a photographic partnership, '...Bhawani,' to be made out.
Major General Charles McLintock Cotton (1821-1900), Indian Army 1842-80.
