Lot 396 from the Christie’s catalogue ‘Sale of 19th and 20th Century photographs on Thursday, June 18, 1981 at 10.30 a.m. and 2.00 p.m.’, (p.90):'396 PHOTOGRAPHS BY NEVIL STORY MASKELYNE, WILLIAM HENRY FOX TALBOT, W. CRACHES AND OTHERS, an album- containing thirty photographs including four large calotype views of Basset Downs and grounds, a fine study of Pennlergare House and four views of Charlton House – two showing figures informally posed on the lawns before – all from negatives by Nevil Story Maskelyne, also including a calotype view of ‘High Street Oxford’ by ‘W.H. Fox Talbot’, three other views of Oxford by W. Craches, a study of ‘Carnarvon Castle’ by F. Bedford and several good rural and street scenes around Oxford, salt and albumen prints, the majority from paper negatives ranging in size 6 ½ x 6 ½ inches to 10 x 11 ½ inches, some prints loosely inserted, some captioned in pencil below images, half morocco, worn, oblong folio, 1845 and later.'
