Scope & Content:

Full diced-leather bound album (boards loose) measuring 320x260mm, containing prints laid down, the majority with pencilled captions beneath. The material relates to the Indian career of Colonel Frederick Bailey, father of Frederick Marshman Bailey, and can be roughly broken down into the following categories:

Prints 1-9 Views of Simla by Samuel Bourne, 1860s.

Print 10 Royal Engineers officers, Delhi, 1870s.

Prints 11-28 Views at Dehra Dun, where Bailey was employed in the Forest Service, 1880s.

Prints 29-34 Hunting and fishing trip to Raiwala, 1880s.

Prints 35-38 Mussoorie and Chakrata, 1880s.

Prints 39-42 Deoban, 1880s.

Prints 43-78 European and miscellaneous views: Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, 1880s-90s.
