The diary includes detailed entries for hunting and fishing trips undertaken by Lieutenant-Colonel Burton from 1894-1948. For each trip there is a daily diary entry given details of location, route taken, geographic information, and animals seen and hunted. Some of the entries also include sketches of maps and animals.
Also included in the diary are press cuttings, correspondence, loose notes and illustrations.
