View from the hillside looking down onto the rear of the Temple of Mandulis, with the Nile beyond. The largest free-standing temple in Lower Nubia, it was re-assembled at New Kalabsha, south of the Aswan High Dam, in 1970. With additional caption note: 'Sur les ruines du temple bâti par Amenôpht II, Ptolémée Aulète construisit un nouveau temple qui fut terminé sous Auguste, C. Caligula et Trajan. Il a été dédié sous Auguste par l'inscription: Le seigneur de l'Égypte, l'Empereur, enfant du Soleil, le seigneur du diadème, César vivant à toujours, chéri de Phta et d'Isis, a érigé des monuments en l'honneur de sa mère Isis et a fondé ce beau temple.'
