View of the Temple of Thoth at el-Dakka from the rear, with the sanctuary chamber in the foreground and the back of the pylon beyond. The temple was moved to el-Sebua, some 25 miles upstream, between 1962 and 1968. With additional caption note: 'Dédié à Tôth, deux fois grand, seigneur de Pselk, et à Tafné, fille de Phrè, par Ergamène ou Ergamon, roi éthiopien, qui, selon Diodore de Sicile (l.III, 5 et 6), vivant sous le règne de Ptolémée II (Philadelphe).'
